Bob Marley's universal appeal, impact on music history and role as a social and political prophet is both unique and unparalleled. MARLEY is the definitive life story of the musician, revolutionary, and legend, from his early days to his rise to international superstardom. Made with the support of the Marley family, the film features rare footage, incredible performances and revelatory interviews with the people that knew him best.

From Academy Award-winning director Kevin Macdonald (One Day In September, The Last King of Scotland) comes the story of a towering figure of musical history, whose music and message has transcended different cultures, languages and creeds to resonate around the world today as powerfully as when he was alive.

MARLEY will make its world premiere at the Berlin Film festival this month followed by its North American premiere at SXSW. Magnolia Pictures will release theatrically and on VOD on Friday, April 20th.

Google Glasses Coming This Year?

Google Glasses Coming This Year?

a0118453_18292190.jpg

It comes as no secret that Google has more money than they know what to do with. This has led to some rather interesting side projects including self-driving cars and one closer on the horizon, Google Glasses. Several rumored features have been mentioned to enhance interactivity between environment and human such as navigation and real-time information provision. This will come courtesy of an Android-based operating system and low-resolution camera which will make technology seen in movies such as Predator and Terminator a reality. While the eyewear is meant to be a part-time accompaniment, you can assume some will not take heed and nerd out to the max.

Wrath of the Titans

Wrath of the Titans

A decade after his heroic defeat of the monstrous Kraken, Perseus (Worthington) --the demigod son of Zeus (Neeson)--is attempting to live a quieter life as a village fisherman and the sole parent to his 10-year old son, Helius. Meanwhile, a struggle for supremacy rages between the gods and the Titans. Dangerously weakened by humanity's lack of devotion, the gods are losing control of the imprisoned Titans and their ferocious leader, Kronos, father of the long-ruling brothers Zeus, Hades (Fiennes) and Poseidon (Danny Huston). The triumvirate had overthrown their powerful father long ago, leaving him to rot in the gloomy abyss of Tartarus, a dungeon that lies deep within the cavernous underworld. Perseus cannot ignore his true calling when Hades, along with Zeus' godly son, Ares (Edgar Ramirez), switch loyalties and make a deal with Kronos to capture Zeus. The Titans' strength grows stronger as Zeus' remaining godly powers are siphoned, and hell is unleashed on earth. Enlisting the help of the warrior Queen Andromeda (Rosamund Pike), Poseidon's demigod son, Argenor (Toby Kebbell), and fallen god Hephaestus (Bill Nighy), Perseus bravely embarks on a treacherous quest into the underworld to rescue Zeus, overthrow the Titans and save mankind.brother, Hades.

iPhone 5 Concept

iPhone 5 Concept

a0118453_12484224.jpg

In the light of all the buzz that has been circulating around Apple products, Ciccaresedesign has taken the opportunity to imagine what the iPhone 5 might resemble. The Italian based company is no stranger to reinventing Apple products and with the iPhone 5 having no face yet, this one sure puts great anticipation in the product. Ciccaredesign’s take offers a much more organic look for the iPhone, truly emphasizing the humanistic and almost second nature feel that iPhones provide through user interaction. Perhaps this could be what Apple is aiming at for their next phone.

Nike Air Foamposite One “Galaxy” Camp Outs Begin

Nike Air Foamposite One
“Galaxy”
Camp Outs Begin

a0118453_19142922.jpg

What came as a surprise to many, the December 2011 Retro release of the Jordan 11 “Concord” resulted in a rare break out of riots across nationwide retailers. Somewhat surprising given the current state of footwear culture, the hype had seemingly developed a renewed energy despite the pair’s relatively wide distribution map. In a similar fashion, this weekend’s upcoming Nike Air Foamposite One “Galaxy” release has sparked a string of camp outs across various cities, some upwards of one to two weeks in advance of the pair’s actual drop on February 24. The Air Foamposite One – a shoe that is arguably one of the most recognizable silhouettes within Nike’s rich basketball archives has seen a range of Retro releases and colorway iterations over the past few years. Yet, while the hype surrounding these past releases was somewhat notable, it is safe to say that the latest “Galaxy” anticipation has garnered the most mainstream attention and discussion. If memory serves, the last time a sneaker camp out in excess of 7-10 days was seen was on behalf of the highly regarded Nike Air Yeezy – a shoe that was not only a namesake to Ye himself, but also was also a completely original silhouette designed under his direction. Not to mention the pair’s availability was more limited. So, what do you think about the recent “Galaxy” camp outs and do you think that the hype is merited? Will you be picking up (or trying to) a pair on release day? Let the games begin.

Wow!
